he has extensive experience in the management of EU R&D projects in the field of environmental impact of vehicle technologies, including hybrid and Electric Vehicles. She is currently chair of the Green NCAP consortium TWG, leading the development of procedures, assessment criteria and rating scheme. She is responsible to guarantee the soundness and quality of the data, to review the state-of-the art in procedures development in an international level and discuss about roadmap for future assessment updates.

Angad joined the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK as a graduate from the University of Warwick and is now an Automotive Trends Analyst in the Technology Trends team, working on the Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Hydrogen Storage and Internal Combustion Engine roadmaps. He has completed a master’s degree in engineering business management, and he has researched decarbonisation in the automotive industry as part of his two theses.

Antonio Romero holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), with a specialization in electronics. During his undergraduate studies, he completed a year-long internship in the aerospace sector, contributing to the simulation of Distributed Satellite Systems for nanosatellite missions, with a focus on the electronic subsystems of the spacecraft. 

Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, where he continues to deepen his expertise in the field. As part of his graduate studies, he joined the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Laboratory at IDIADA as an intern. His ongoing master’s thesis is being conducted within this laboratory and focuses on the analysis of electromagnetic noise generated by ringing phenomena during switching events in power traction inverters, particularly in the context of electric mobility.

I have worked at Vauxhall now Stellantis for 15 years and have been involved in both Battery Electric LCVs and also bringing the Fuel Cell LCV to market in UK. FCEV builds upon the continuing success of Vauxhall and Stellantis in the LCV BEV market and will be a much-needed compliment for fleets struggling with the right zero emission solution to suit their operational needs.

Cara has spent her career so far working within sustainability in the NHS. She is currently the Head of Sustainability at East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) and leads on net zero, managing utilities and environmental compliance.

A major part of EMAS’ drive to net zero is fleet decarbonisation. Cara is responsible for developing and delivering EMAS’ electric vehicle infrastructure plan and coordinates the Trust’s Electric Vehicle Working Group.

Outside of the NHS, she has been a Trustee for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust since 2018.

Mr. Carl Christie

Carl Christie leads the Fleet Strategy Team at Cenex where he and the team provide independent expert advice to public, private and third sector organisations looking to transition their fleets to zero emission vehicles and infrastructure. 

 

Carl is a leading expert on Emergency Services fleet decarbonisation and has worked on over a dozen emergency services projects over the last two to three years, including helping to develop EV fleet and infrastructure strategies for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies, and NHS England.

 

Carl has a background in Automotive Engineering and over 15 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Cenex, Carl worked at Intelligent Energy developing hydrogen fuel cells for low power applications including stationary power, materials handling and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ching-Yi Chen is a Technical Consultant at Smart Mobility Living Lab: London (SMLL), TRL. Ching-Yi has expertise in the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) validation and verification (V&V), safety assurance, and CAV regulation. Her extensive experience encompasses aspects including planning and conducting CAV trials in real-world settings, deploying and monitoring vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication infrastructure, and assessing the performance of CAV perception systems.

Ching-Yi’s previous projects have been diverse, involving remote operation and automated driving trials, benchmarking CAV sensor precision systems, and the use of synthetic data analytics for enhancing simulation representativeness in the automotive regulatory consulting.

Chris joined the RHA in September 2019 to lead its environment policy work. He is actively engaged in shaping the Net Zero agenda to deliver sustainable outcomes for commercial vehicle operators and, in particular, small businesses. Previously, he was a Civil Servant for 18 years – predominantly at the Home Office developing policies to reduce offending by heroin and cocaine addicts and to address domestic abuse. Together with a family background in haulage, he brings extensive experience and insight into how central and local government decision-making, policy-making and Parliament works at the highest levels.

Daan Nap is responsible for Business Development and Sales of Autonomous Connection Devices (ACDs) at Rocsys, for the segments Ports & Transportation. He is dedicated to implementing and scaling innovative technology solutions that contribute to a sustainable future. Daan brings more than 17 years of experience in the global eMobility market. At Epyon he helped realise the very first commercial DC fast chargers for passenger cars in Europe as of 2010. In 2011, Epyon was acquired by ABB, a global leader in robotics, machine automation and digital services. At ABB Daan served as the Global Head of bus charging, delivering the first pantograph systems and depot charging solutions for bus charging, covering more than 50 countries. He worked on the early solutions for Energy Management and delivered the world’s very first MegaWatt Charging Systems (MCS) to commercial customers already in 2022. Before Epyon, Daan had various roles at companies including Siemens, Royal Philips and IBM. He holds a BSc in engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in The Hague.

David Wong is Head of Technology and Innovation at SMMT, the UK’s automotive industry body that represents the interests of more than 800 members including all major vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers, aftermarket businesses, technology and engineering firms, mobility start-ups and self-driving vehicle technology developers. David is SMMT’s lead on connected and automated vehicles, electric and fuel cell vehicles, autotech and future mobility innovation. He also sits on the UK Automotive Council Future Technology Group and is a board member of greentech consultancy Cenex and advisory board member of PAVE UK. He was a member of the UK Government’s Future Communications Challenge Group, which advised on 5G strategy, and the multi-sectoral EV Energy Taskforce.
