Her main background as Product Manager in Applus+ IDIADA is the coordination of projects related vehicle sustainability, energy efficiency and emissions. She has deep knowledge of type approval regulations related to pollutant emissions, especially Real Driving Emissions. S

    he has extensive experience in the management of EU R&D projects in the field of environmental impact of vehicle technologies, including hybrid and Electric Vehicles. She is currently chair of the Green NCAP consortium TWG, leading the development of procedures, assessment criteria and rating scheme. She is responsible to guarantee the soundness and quality of the data, to review the state-of-the art in procedures development in an international level and discuss about roadmap for future assessment updates.

    Alex is a Chartered Engineer with an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School who leads the formulation of the Innovation and CAM grant funded products offered to industry by the APC and Zenzic.

    Prior to the APC, having worked for over a decade in automotive OEMs he spent 6 years leading the integration of software and calibration for Aston Martin’s Powertrain and E/E supply cooperation with AMG Daimler. 

    Additionally managing large tier one suppliers and in house calibration teams to deliver Emissions, OBD and Driveability targets. He joined Aston Martin in 2009 after graduating from Loughborough University where he also spent time at Vauxhall Motors manufacturing plant as a Body in White Process Engineer.

    Across a 25-year career in energy, clean mobility, and telecommunications, Amy has led a diverse range of go-to-market strategies, new business assessments, market entries, business design and multiple vendor and buy-side diligences across the energy sector.

     

    Before joining Xynteo, Amy was a Partner at PA Consulting in their Energy Transition team, leading on the decarbonisation of consumer energy, and co-led PA’s Clean & Smart Mobility accelerator. Prior to that she was a Director at KPMG UK and co-lead the Energy & Mobility Transaction Services team. In the past she had held leadership positions at Cable & Wireless Telecommunications and Marconi Communications where she performed a variety of strategy and operational roles across both businesses.

     

    Amy has been a thought leader in both Energy Transition and eMobility sectors and authored several articles in leading publications, chaired panels at large events, and delivered keynote addresses.

    Andrea has an extensive knowledge and experience of innovative digital technology gained through working in both the public and private sector. Commencing a career in IT software consultancy before moving on and focusing on Digital transport solutions. Consequently, with over 30 years IT and Intelligent Transport experience, managing rollout projects of next generation transport technology in major cities including Boston, Brisbane, LA, New York, San Francisco, Vancouver and Washington DC and congestion management in Sydney Australia.

    More recently Andrea took the position responsible for providing the strategic direction of Digital Transport initiatives for the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) within the Tees Valley region.

    Andrea specialises in utilising technology to optimise transportation systems with the aim to drive connected mobility, operational efficiencies, and sustainable public transport solutions for the future.  With a collaborative approach and strategic vision, this enables Andrea to lead cross-functional teams in delivering scalable solutions such as the UK’s first regional Digital Twin, which has been highlighted recently in the UK Government Transport AI Action Plan. 

    Andrea has a passion for technology and delivering innovation to make transportation not only smarter but socially inclusive and greener.

    Angad joined the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK as a graduate from the University of Warwick and is now an Automotive Trends Analyst in the Technology Trends team, working on the Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Hydrogen Storage and Internal Combustion Engine roadmaps. He has completed a master’s degree in engineering business management, and he has researched decarbonisation in the automotive industry as part of his two theses.

    Anna is Head of Strategy at the ultra-fast-charging battery company Nyobolt. Anna has over 15 years’ experience in zero emission technologies spanning research, government and industry, with a focus in the last decade on battery technology. Prior to joining Nyobolt, Anna held the role of Head of Battery Technology at Innovate UK where she led the innovation programme and technical direction of the UK Government’s Faraday Battery Challenge. In this role, Anna worked with businesses and universities across the UK to accelerate the commercialisation of innovative battery technology for EVs. Anna draws on her technical background in battery research in the USA, working closely with Nyobolt’s global technical and commercial teams to bring the technology to market. 

    Antonio Romero

    Antonio Romero holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), with a specialization in electronics. During his undergraduate studies, he completed a year-long internship in the aerospace sector, contributing to the simulation of Distributed Satellite Systems for nanosatellite missions, with a focus on the electronic subsystems of the spacecraft. 

    Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, where he continues to deepen his expertise in the field. As part of his graduate studies, he joined the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Laboratory at IDIADA as an intern. His ongoing master’s thesis is being conducted within this laboratory and focuses on the analysis of electromagnetic noise generated by ringing phenomena during switching events in power traction inverters, particularly in the context of electric mobility.

    Austen Okonweze

    Austen Okonweze is the Deputy Director and Joint Head of the Automotive Unit at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) where he is responsible for overseeing policies and programmes to drive growth and innovation in the Automotive Sector as it transitions to a zero emission future. As part of his role, he oversees the Automotive Transformation Fund and is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the new £2bn Future Automotive Programme.

    Prior to joining the Automotive Unit in Sept 2024, Austen was the Deputy Director overseeing DBT’s Business Support Policy and programmes where he was responsible for delivering £350m of interventions to support SME growth and productivity including designing and delivering the Help to Grow Programme.  Before joining DBT, Austen held other significant roles at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) including working on Industrial Strategy, Life Sciences, Cyber Security and Connected and Autonomous Vehicles.

    Ben MacDonald

    Ben has been involved in sustainability throughout his career. Whilst at university in New Zealand he cofounded a direct action NGO that ultimately saw the transfer of large tracts of temperate lowland rainforest to the Department of Conservation. He then taught Geography and Maths in schools in SE London for twenty years. He founded Nodum in 2021 after building a prototype in his back yard that sought to improve the electric vehicle charging experience and speed up the adoption of electric vehicles. 

    Nodum has built a number of prototypes for a range of different use cases including cross-pavement solutions and the wider community of disabled drivers.  He has worked with local and central government helping to develop policy for cross pavement solutions. Nodum currently has a number of units on trial in a variety of different contexts. 

    In 2024 he helped to set up the Microlino dealer network. He continues to advocate for #rightsizedvehicles. 

    Ben Mohide

    Programme Lead - Fleet Electrification

    Ben Mohide is an accomplished transport sector professional, currently leading the Fleet Electrification Programme at Avon and Somerset Police. He is dedicated to developing solutions to enhance the delivery of policing as it transitions to a zero-emission fleet.

    The programme will deliver upgrades to site electrical supplies and establish a network of charge points. It will also foster collaborative relationships with trusted private and public sector partners, leveraging the benefits of accessing charge points at fleet depots across the country.

    With 15 years of experience in the transport sector, including eight years as fleet lead for Avon and Somerset, Ben led a generational re-design of fleet, restructured roles, secured investment in a distributed workshop strategy, and developed revolutionary fleet analytics tools – optimising the fleet and improving driver safety.

    Having worked closely with teams delivering first-generation charging hardware, software, and driver payment solutions, Ben recognises the importance of a holistic yet agile approach as we transition towards a zero-emission future.

Beth’s core expertise is in developing and embedding strategic and operational sustainability and circularity agendas into multifaceted organizations, including the leadership and delivery of cross-functional initiatives and programs and innovation through redesign and alternative materials.

    She brings years of experience in working internationally with a diverse range of multinational companies including, among others, automotive, manufacturing, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, power, and finance sectors.

    Partnering with client organizations, Beth is leading engagements focusing on embedding sustainability & circularity into innovation processes, product supply, procurement and operations of B2B and B2C businesses, leveraging her experience and know-how to help lift these functions´ roles to become critical contributors of the organization´s sustainability & circularity ambitions and goals.

    Three decades of experience in Advanced Vehicle Engineering, and more recently in Commercial Vehicle Product Management. I have worked at Vauxhall now Stellantis for 15 years and have been involved in both Battery Electric LCVs and also bringing the Fuel Cell LCV to market in UK. FCEV builds upon the continuing success of Vauxhall and Stellantis in the LCV BEV market and will be a much-needed compliment for fleets struggling with the right zero emission solution to suit their operational needs.

    Cara Turton-Chambers

    Cara has spent her career so far working within sustainability in the NHS. She is currently the Head of Sustainability at East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) and leads on net zero, managing utilities and environmental compliance.

    A major part of EMAS’ drive to net zero is fleet decarbonisation. Cara is responsible for developing and delivering EMAS’ electric vehicle infrastructure plan and coordinates the Trust’s Electric Vehicle Working Group.

    Outside of the NHS, she has been a Trustee for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust since 2018.
