    Building an Automotive Industrial Policy for the Next Decade

    The UK’s Industrial Strategy has launched DRIVE35, a transformative programme supporting the latest R&D in strategic vehicle technologies, accelerating their commercial scale-up and unlocking investments across all aspects of automotive electrification. As part of this initiative, HMG is committing £2 billion in capital and R&D funding through to 2030, with an additional £500 million to extend R&D support to 2035. Alongside this investment, the sector plan outlines further commitments, including the launch of an Automotive Technology Strategy in 2026, which will underpin the UK’s long-term industrial policy.
