Green Technology Center at Cenex: Schenck RoTec optimises the development of rotors for the e- mobility sector
The development of e-mobility requires continuous innovation in drive technology and the production of new, efficient rotors. To better support customers in the e-mobility sector, Schenck RoTec has consolidated all of its services related to rotor development and production in its "Green Technology Center" (GTC). The world market leader in balancing technology is now presenting the GTC and its new services at the Cenex Expo in Millbrook on 4th-5th September (Hall 4, C4-303).
More Testing for Prototyping
Increasing performance demands lead to higher rotational speeds for rotors. To ensure that new products can withstand the resulting higher centrifugal forces, they must be tested as early prototypes. Schenck RoTec's Technical Consulting supports manufacturers in this process with its extensive experience in rotor testing, analysis, and process consulting, using methods such as spin testing and burst analysis. Additionally, all necessary certification services for Schenck balancing machines are now offered under one roof in the in-house test laboratory in Darmstadt (Germany).
Benefits of Developing New Rotors
By consolidating testing facilities at the Green Technology Center, rotor testing turnaround times are significantly accelerated. The GTC is equipped with several spin test stands, a measurement room with high-precision coordinate measuring machines, and multiple balancing machines from the Pasio 50 and Pasio 15 series. This central arrangement enables tests and adjustments to be carried out faster and more accurately, including cycle and burst tests with high-speed cameras. This support provides customers with valuable insights into rotor behavior, allowing them to optimize and further develop their rotors faster for improved product quality.
A Strong Partner for Production and Service
Once the electric armatures have successfully moved into production, Schenck offers a wide range of products, from manual to automated balancing machines, and provides global services. To support this, the innovative Schenck ONE balancing platform was introduced in recent years, allowing for easy and secure rotor balancing with additional cloud-based functions.
Schenck RoTec’s team is available at Cenex to showcase the possibilities of the GTC, including the presentation of a Pasio 5 with Schenck ONE.
