    COMSOL

    Visit us on C4-200

COMSOL is a global provider of simulation software for product design and research to technical enterprises, research labs and universities. Its COMSOL Multiphysics® product is an integrated software environment for creating physics-based models and simulation applications. A particular strength is its ability to account for coupled or multiphysics phenomena.

For the automotive and e-mobility sectors, components such as drive systems, infotainment systems, power electronics and those related to electric vehicle (EV) applications can be better understood in early development phases using modelling and simulation (M&S). In the product design process, M&S helps develop and implement innovative ideas and identify optimal configurations.

In order to provide these benefits, the models used must take into account the multiple phenomena that may impact the performance of a process or device — in other words, they must be multiphysics models. In EV applications, for example, multiphysics modelling capabilities are essential for finding and preventing hotspots in motors, understanding the effects of mechanical loads on battery cells, and accurately modelling concurrent flows of liquids and gases in the porous electrodes of fuel cells.

Cybermoor Services Ltd / Rural Energy Resilience Project

    We're a part of V2X Innovation Zone on C1-01

Cybermoor is a community technology social enterprise which deploys community-owned digital infrastructure in underserved areas. It has a background in delivering complex wireless and fixed line broadband networks in rural areas in Northern England & Scotland. In 2017 it extended the community support principles from broadband to electric vehicle charge points (EVCP). CYB secured an initial IUK-supported project to install 4 EVCPs in areas that the commercial providers don’t normally consider, using community shares as a means to support the financing of the project. This successfully led to SOSCI which installed ~150 chargepoints across the UK. They have also managed the IUK REVUP project which has developed a model for scaling chargepoint deployment across the North East with Durham County Council (DCC) and Mer. They are leveraging £5M in government and private funding into the DCC EV chargepoint rollout.

Cybermoor is the project lead of the Rural Energy Resilience project, with 20 years of experience in managing complex technology projects across business, public and community sectors. CYB has experience of installing infrastructure with rural LAs for broadband delivery, through its work with Councils across the North of England. The 5G neutral-host model, being developed with North Yorkshire County Council, provides the model for the RER project.
