Talos Technology: HiPERMOD - Innovate UK funded Project

Talos Technology – Electric Powertrain Technology Experts, and industry leader in Robustness Engineering Development Services, has recently been awarded funding from the UK Government to develop specialist electric motorcycle technology and innovation with a new dual motor system for electric motorcycles with integrated inverter. Codenamed HiPERMOD, this dual motor system will increase performance whilst reducing weight as well as increasing efficiency allowing further weight to be reduced from the battery. The modular system will be first introduced in a vehicle from our project partners Arc , and due to its modular nature it will allow for numerous motor configurations enabling Arc to utilise the same 2 base motors across a multitude of new motorcycles.

Talos in collaboration with Arc will develop the system over the next 2 years for release in 2026. The development will be supported and co-funded by the UK government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), via Innovate UK. This exciting development will drive innovation, capability and new intellectual property, enhancing the credibility and profile of British industry and design.

This new collaboration will combine Talos's advanced powertrain technology capability with Arc’s reputation for developing the most exciting innovations in the motorcycle world to generate technological innovation for future electric motorcycles.

Manos Polioudis, Talos co-Founder and CEO said “We believe in a future where powertrain technology will revolutionise the way Electric Vehicles are designed. In Talos we strive to develop technology and expertise that will allow our customers to get an order of magnitude advantage in their vehicle designs. Our collaboration with Arc is critical to showcase these latest innovations, since Arc is in the forefront of EV motorcycle technology. We are very excited to showcase the results to the automotive world.”
