    Rototest

    Visit us on C3-605

Re-think Powertrain testing. Bring the road into the lab for advanced powertrain testing. Rototest has established a new benchmark for Powertrain Dynamometers. Time optimizing and cost reducing solutions that will advance your R&D and shorten the time to market, providing an unprecedented versatility to meet the demands of tomorrow.

The automotive industry is facing a major challenge. In addition to electrification, vehicles are being equipped with more sophisticated features. Everything from convenience to safety. At the same time, the demand to drastically shorten development times to reach the market on time is increasing. Rototest powertrain dynamometers solution enables you to begin testing at an early stage of the development phase in a controlled environment and with high repeatability. By combining the dynamometer solution with a simulation environment (ViL), it is possible to conduct comprehensive testing from basic to sophisticated testing scenarios. To name a few:

    • NCAP scenarios

    • ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) such as Adapted Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Automated Parking

    • Drive cycles such as WLTC, RDE, fuel consumption

    • High dynamic maneuvers such as emergency brake and WOT (Wide Open Throttle)

    • µ-split, torque vectoring, vertical and horizontal road profiles and the like

    • Climatic; battery efficiency/consumption

Since its establishment in 1988, Rototest has developed the hub coupled dynamometer concept to meet the future demand when it comes to complex testing. It boasts a high transient torque and power capability, handling individual wheel torques up to 5 000 Nm (20 000 Nm for 4WD system) and system powers up to 1.2 megawatt. The models feature Rototest’s renowned floating solution, minimizing infrastructural requirements by only needing a flat floor and power supply connection and with an installation and commissioning in less than two days. As the dynamometer system is on wheels and fully floating, it is possible to turn the steering wheel. Rototest therefore developed this capability further called Natural Steering.
