• Quattro Plant, EV Parts and iNETIC Traction to Showcase Electric MEWP

    CENEX Demonstration: UTAC Millbrook Wednesday 3rd September, 9:00 to 17:00 & Thursday 4th September, 9:00 to 16:30

At this year’s CENEX event we are showcasing this project was funded by the Department for Business and Trade, via the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK, supported by Innovate UK and delivered by the Niche Vehicle Network three industry leaders, Quattro Plant, EV Parts and iNetic Traction collaborated on a pioneering six-month funded project: The development of a revolutionary Off-Highway Electric Vehicle (OHEV) in the form of a fully electric Quattro Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) for the construction and infrastructure sector.

The team has upcycled a previously diesel-powered Quattro MEWP into a fully electric machine, setting new standards in efficiency, emissions reduction and intelligent performance. This approach retains the embedded carbon from the original build, shortens production time and delivers zero tailpipe emissions and supports quieter, cleaner and more sustainable site operations.

    Project Achievements

    • Bespoke electric drive system designed for heavy-duty plant applications

    • Real-time telematics for live operational data, predictive maintenance and remote diagnostics

    • On-board 110V DC supply, eliminating the need for diesel generators and cutting NOx and SOx emissions

    • Successful field trials with highly positive feedback from operators and fleet managers

    Collaborators

    • Quattro Plant provided the MEWP for conversion, along with operational insights and design requirements from 36 years of sector experience

    • EV Parts led systems integration and electrification, enhancing their xCU battery and powertrain platform

    • iNetic Traction delivered a custom motor, inverter and software optimised for the torque and load demands of plant machinery

    Innovative Features

    • Advanced telematics for real-time performance, location, usage and health data

    • EV Parts XCU battery control system integrated without compromising original safety systems

    • Built-in auxiliary power for tools and equipment, removing the need for separate generators

    • Vehicle-to-load capability to power other vehicles or machinery

    • Custom-built traction system for high-torque, low-speed operations

    Unique Selling Proposition

    • The first electric Quattro MEWP to combine:

    • Live power use and fault monitoring

    • Custom-built motor and inverter for plant applications

    • Auxiliary DC power for tools and equipment

    • DC fast-charging capability

    • Suitability for ultra-low emission and quiet zones

    • Versatile traction pack for multiple vehicle types

This robust, field-proven platform matches diesel operation with no additional training, improves uptime, reduces noise and maintenance, and delivers instant operational insights, making it a genuine alternative to conventional plant machinery.
