London, July 26 - Cenex Expo will serve as the platform for the highly anticipated CAM Scale-Up UK announcement on the 4-September 2024. The CAM Scale-Up UK programme, delivered by Zenzic, aims to support innovative businesses and the Connected Automated Mobility (CAM) industry, selecting recipients for grants of up to £100,000 from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT). The programme supports the UK's ambition to be a global leader in the development of autonomous and connected vehicles, with Cenex Expo's role pivotal in fostering the CAM community.

Launched by the UK Government in 2020, the CAM Scale-Up UK Programme aims to accelerate the development of pioneering solutions that could power tomorrow's self-driving vehicles. However, this will be the first time the recipients are announced at the key industry event Cenex Expo, the rebranded and unified platform combining the legacies of Cenex-LCV (Low Carbon Vehicle) and Cenex-CAM (Connected Automated Mobility).

A total of 22 businesses have been supported through the programme since its inception approximately 4 years ago, leading to a diverse array of innovative projects, including groundbreaking developments such as the world's first pothole-fixing robot, self-driving passenger and freight vehicles, and advanced radar and safety software solutions that enable vehicles to navigate extreme weather conditions.

Supported by the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) and in partnership with Plug and Play, the programme enables start-ups and SMEs to test their products and services at the world-leading CAM Testbed UK testing facilities, which significantly accelerate their time to market.

“SMEs entering the CAM Scale-Up UK programme are at the beginning of an exciting journey, following in the footsteps of a number of exciting CAM innovators to take part in the programme. Previous cohort partners such as ANGOKA, Dromos and Robotiz3d, have made an impact both here in the UK and abroad” said Mark Cracknell, Programme Director at Zenzic.

“There is a lot of interest around the upcoming announcement our 2024/25 Scale-Up programme winners and we’re very excited to be showcasing our fifth cohort of SMEs at Cenex Expo this year. This cohort will join the growing CAM Scale-Up UK ecosystem, home to some of the UK’s most exciting CAM SMEs. We’re looking forward to welcoming our new partners this autumn and sharing their journey.”

"We are delighted that the 2024 recipients of the CAM Scale-Up UK grants will be announced at Cenex Expo,” comments Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex. “For close to two decades, this event, under its prior form of Cenex-LCV and Cenex-CAM, has been the launchpad for groundbreaking technologies. Now, under the unified marque of Cenex Expo, we are expanding the platform where innovation meets opportunity and are proud to support the visionaries who are driving the future of autonomous and connected vehicles."
